How to Create a Google Listing:

Step 1: Open Google My Business in your browser

Step 2: In the top right-hand corner click sign in and sign in with your Google Account

Step 3: Enter the name of your business, click Next

Step 4: Select if you want your business to show up on maps (this is how customers will find you)

Step 5: Enter the business category (Shopping, Restaurant, Auto Shop, etc.)

Step 6: Enter Phone Number

Step 7: Finish

How to Claim a Google Listing That Has Already Been Claimed:

Step 1: Open Google My Business in your browser

Step 2: In the top right-hand corner click sign in and sign in with your Google Account

Step 3: Enter the name of your business, click Next. A page may pop up that says “This listing has already been claimed.”

Step 4: Click Request Access and fill out the form.

Step 5: Submit that request. Google will send the current listing owner an email saying that you are requesting access and the owner can grant access.

Once your Google My Business has been claimed it is very important to provide as much information as possible about your business as this could be the first thing customers see when searching for your business. Make sure that all the information is correct, add photos and try to create a post about your business. Posts will show up when people search for your business and can help provide increased brand awareness. If you’re stuck on post ideas, think of something that will stand out. Promote events or sales, showcase your products, highlight new arrivals, wish customers a happy holiday or even give them a call-to-action post that will direct them to schedule an appointment on your website or call your storefront.
